Voice

Phones that sit on the network

A business phone system is a network service that happens to ring. We design hosted voice so the calls, the mobiles, and the fibre are one design, not three suppliers pointing at each other.

  1. M365 Live tenant, mail, teams
  2. Voice Quiet phones on the data network
  3. Fibre Live full fibre to the premises
  4. Network Live routers, switches, wi-fi
  5. Cyber Quiet sign-in, devices, backup
  6. Software Quiet tools built to fit the estate

What we take on

  • A hosted phone system: extensions, hunt groups, and the greeting people actually hear
  • Numbers moved across from the old provider, with a plan for the morning it happens
  • Handsets, or an app on the computers you already have, when that suits the work
  • The join between the phones and the fibre, so a call is not the moment you discover the line is too small
  • Changes when someone joins, leaves, or sits somewhere else

What we will not pretend

  • We will not sell a call-centre platform to a company of fifteen
  • We will not leave you with a portal login and call that support
  • We will not blame the mobile signal in the building on the circuit, but we will say which problem is which

In practice

SIP is the way the phone system speaks to the telephone network. A SIP trunk is the pipe for the calls. Hosted voice means the system itself sits on a provider’s platform. Your office needs the handsets or the app, and a connection that stays still.

The connection matters more than the handset. Voice wants a stable path, and a router that does not treat a phone call as less important than a large download. We size that with the fibre, not after the complaints start.

Porting is the move of your existing numbers. It has a lead time, and it fails when the old provider’s records do not match the bill. We check that before we book the day.

A hunt group is the list of people who should ring when a customer calls the main number. We write that list down with you. It is usually shorter than the one in the old system.

The business landline switch-off is scheduled for 31 January 2027. Read the PSTN switch-off advice for businesses.
