Microsoft 365
The tenancy, put in order
Most tenancies we see were set up in a hurry and then left. Mail works. Teams works. Nobody is sure who can share what, what happens if someone leaves, or whether anything is actually backed up. We put the tenancy in order and stay with it.
- M365 Live tenant, mail, teams
- Voice Quiet phones on the data network
- Fibre Live full fibre to the premises
- Network Live routers, switches, wi-fi
- Cyber Quiet sign-in, devices, backup
- Software Quiet tools built to fit the estate
What we take on
- New starters and leavers, including the mailbox, the files, and the groups
- Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive, set up so people can find things
- Multi-factor authentication, and the sign-in settings around it
- The subscriptions you actually need, on one bill
- A backup that is separate from the recycle bin, and a restore we have tried
What we will not pretend
- We will not sell you every Microsoft add-on because it exists
- We will not call a tidy-up a transformation
- We will not claim a badge or a partner status we do not hold
In practice
Entra ID is the directory: the list of people, the groups, and the rules for signing in. If that list is wrong, everything else is wrong. We start there.
Intune is how a company looks after the laptops. It is worth it when people take machines home and you would like a password, encryption, and a way to remove the company data if a laptop goes missing. It is not automatic for a firm of ten.
Defender is Microsoft’s protection for the mail and the devices. We turn on the parts that match the way you work. We do not tick every box in the portal and call it security.
SharePoint and OneDrive are where the files should live. We agree a simple shape for them, move what needs moving, and stop the habit of emailing the spreadsheet.
Exchange Online is the mail. We check the domains, the spam settings, and what happens to a mailbox when someone leaves. A shared mailbox is for a team. It is not an account with a password taped under a keyboard.
Licensing, for most of the companies we see, is Business Basic, Standard, or Premium. Premium is the one that includes Intune and Defender. We will say which one fits, and which ones you can drop.
Backup is separate. Microsoft keeps your mail for its own operations. That is not a promise that you can get last Tuesday’s folder back after someone deletes it. We put a backup in place and restore a file as a test.
